Privacy Policy
How Wholesome Life looks after your information. Last updated: 14 October 2026.
Who we are
Wholesome Life is a free faith platform run by A Wholesome Family ministry. You can reach us at hello@wholesomelife.ng. We follow the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
What we collect
- Your account: your name, email, password (we only keep a scrambled version, never the password itself), date of birth, time zone, and your settings.
- If you are 13 to 17: your parent or guardian's email, and the date they agreed.
- What you share: comments, testimonies, prayer requests, Bible highlights and notes, who you follow, and who you block.
- Private messages between you and other members.
- Giving: the amount, date and payment reference. Card and bank details go straight to our payment company. We never see or store them.
- Technical records: your internet address and the time you logged in, kept for security and to stop misuse.
Why we use it
- To run your account and show you the messages, Bible and community you ask for.
- To keep everyone safe: reviewing what is shared, protecting younger members, and dealing with reports.
- To email you only when needed: parent consent, password reset, and the alerts you switch on in Settings.
We do not sell your information. We do not show adverts. We do not track you across other websites.
Who can see what
- Testimonies and prayer requests are read by our review team before anything is shared. If you post anonymously, other members see "Anonymous", but our team can see which account sent it so they can follow up with care.
- Prayer requests that show serious distress are passed to our prayer care team, who may contact you privately.
- Private messages are never read by our team. The only exception is a conversation that one of the two people reports. Then a reviewer can read that conversation, and the viewing is recorded.
- Your Bible highlights and notes are private to you.
Young members
You must be at least 13. If you are 13 to 17, your account opens only after your parent or guardian agrees by email. Members under 18 only receive message requests from people they follow.
Other companies that help us
- Hosting: Hostinger stores the website and its data.
- Payments: Paystack handles gifts.
- Email: our email provider delivers the emails we send you.
They may process your information outside Nigeria. We only share what each one needs to do its job.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. If you delete your account, your content and messages are deleted. Records of gifts are kept for our accounts, with your name and email removed. Backups are kept for up to 14 days, so deleted information may stay in a backup for that long before it is erased.
Your rights
You can see everything we hold ("Download my data" in Settings), correct your details in Settings, and delete your account and data in Settings, at any time. You can also ask us to stop using your information in a particular way, or complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. For anything you cannot do yourself, email us.
Cookies
We use only the small files the site needs to work: to keep you logged in, to protect forms, and to remember your theme and where you stopped in the Bible. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you on the site before it takes effect.
