My First Conversation With Abba
Intimacy

Long before I could 'hear' God, I determined to be speaking with Him.
I had read GOOD MORNING, HOLY SPIRIT by Benny Hinn.
I had been listening to Joyce Meyer talk casually about gisting with God.
It fascinated me and I wanted that too.
So I also started gisting with Him too, non-stop.
On the road, at home, going to work, in the bathroom - everywhere.
I would tell Him random things, ask weird questions, tell Him about my day, my thoughts, current affairs - everything.
I couldn't hear Him then, but I knew He could hear me, so I just talked and talked.
Sometimes when I wanted to have real heart-to-heart talk with Him, I would go to my room, put a chair in front of me, invite Him to sit down and I would sit on the bed, visualize Him sitting across me, and I would start talking.
This was years ago during my NYSC.
And it was on one of such days that I heard God for the first time.
Me: (rounding up the lengthy complaint) So, God. I really don't know what to do
God: I love you
Me: (I freeze)
Silence for a long time
Me: (trying to rationalise it) Must be from outside
God: You know it's not
Me: (jumping up and exclaiming) JESUS CHRIST! Oh, sorry. Sorry.
Silence
Me: Is that really you, God?
God: Yes
Me: Jesus Christ! Oh, shi...... I'm sorry, I'm sorry
Deep Breaths
Me: It really, really, really is You???
God: Yes, it really is me
Me: Jes....... Sorry. I have to sit down. Let me sit down
I sat down
Me: God is talking to me. God is really really talking to ME
Suddenly, laughter bubbled up from deep inside me
The cleanest, purest, most exhilarating joyful laughter I had ever felt up till that moment
In-between the laughter,
Me: Am I the one laughing or you, God?
God: Both of us
Me: (still laughing) Wow!
After a while
Me: Please, don't ever stop talking me, God
God: I never have, I never will
Me: What do I call You? God is beautiful, but I suddenly want something more
God: Father in any form
Me: Abba. I like Abba
God: So do I, Daughter
Me: This is the best day of my life. Thank You, Abba. I love You
And I felt the most gentle, the most loving brush on my face.
At this time I went ballistic in my room - shouting and jumping and crying and laughing.
I was in overwhelming disbelief - God was talking to me and touching MEEEEE??? 🤣 🤣 🤣
This is the first conversation I ever had with God.
And we have never stopped talking since then.
Funny thing was, all through the conversation I could 'feel' a smile in His voice.
It was the sweetest feeling ever.
Did I hear Him audibly or it was like a thought?
Till now, I really don't know how to explain it.
His voice seemed to come from inside me
I literally could 'feel' the voice vibration from my belly, but I didn't 'hear' Him with my physical ears, I heard Him with my spirit, and it was as if even my whole body paid attention.
It makes no sense, I know. But that's the only way I can describe it.
And let me say - only twice has God spoken to me in this particular way.
This first time, and the second time was years later.
He speaks in different ways o, so don't go expecting to have my same experience.
He has a million and one ways of speaking.
So, that was my first ever conversation with Abba.
And I can never ever ever forget it.
