God Is A Father

In the previous Post, I shared about the first time I heard God
And I explained how His voice seemed to come from deep inside me.
And I promised to tell you the second time I heard His voice that way.
So, here goes:
There was a time I wanted to buy a particular brand of a digital standing fridge-freezer. The issue however was that my husband and I had an ongoing family project that we were putting our finances into, and we had agreed together to not spend on any extra expenses till the project was completed.
And this fridge was quite expensive.
However, me, when I want something, I want it now now.
I don't like waiting. So when my husband said "Babe, wait. We will buy it. Let's complete what we are doing first"
I didn't agree.
I broke our agreement
Overruled his counsel
Insisted on having my own way
And I bought the fridge
My husband was not happy but he just sha took it as 'one of those things'
That night, I woke up as usual for my regular prayer time.
And the following ensued:
Me: (starting to prayer) Father, I worship You. There is none........
And the voice came from deep inside me, with authority and power:
"I did not make you the head of the home"
I had never heard God speak to me that 'sternly' before.
I immediately fell on my knees
"Forgive me, Father. I'm sorry. Forgive me"
And He spoke again: "You will not use the fridge"
And that was the end of the conversation that night.
Brethren and Sisthren, that fridge did not work.
Nothing I did not do, e no work.
I called the Technical department of the Company, they came, fridge was working perfectly
They left, fridge was not working again.
I knew it was God behind it 😭😭😭
That's how the fridge was just occupying space in my house and doing nothing.
Did I bring up the issue again with God?
Yes, I did.
With plenty apologies and repentance
He only replied me once regarding it: "I've told you that you will not use it"
A couple of months later, my husband voluntarily on his own, bought me a new fridge.
And that's what we are using till now.
Someone visited us and requested for the one we were not using.
We explained it wasn't working, and we had tried fixing it, he said no problem he will see what he can do.
We gave him
He took it home, plugged it and it was working perfectly.
He is using it till today, no repair, no issues. Excellent fridge.
God is a Father
A responsible Father
He not only meets our needs, He disciplines us too when needed.
Now, you will say - what has fridge got to do with head of home, that made God say what He said?
It wasn't really about the fridge, it was about me.
Because I always insisted on doing things my way, having things my way, over the course of our marriage, I had time and time again, gone against my husband's authority, and it had gotten to a point where I was many times 'dictating' what goes in the home.
And if I didn't have my way I would make life miserable for everyone.
It was a toxic behaviour and God had had enough.
He was putting a stop to it before I wrecked my home.
I'm glad to say, after that incident, I changed.
And if I find myself slipping, I simply remember God's voice from that day and I immediately reset myself.
I'm so grateful for His Fatherhood 🙏🏾🙏🏾
